The Syrah-based (92%, with 8% Grenache) 2016 Ventoux Cuvee Bramefan spent 10 months in barriques, but the oak influence is subdued. Hints of vanilla and cedar accent blackberries and blueberries on the nose, while the medium to full – bodied palate is ripe and silky in texture, leading into a long, softly tannic finish.

Excellent depth to the nose with tilled earth, peppercorn, bacon, fresh blackberries and dark cherries. Pretty full-bodied on the palate with a solid, juicy core of fruit supported by quality, fine-grained tannins. Long and fruity finish. Outstanding quality. 89% Syrah and 11% Grenache. Delicious now, but can hold, too.
